Tribute To Ben

•January 10, 2009 • 5 Comments

This is a tribute to the best cat that I have ever know: Ben (aka The Chicken Boy.)  He was laid to rest today.

Today my heart was broken, but the grief of my loss leads me to one greater truth. And that is to stand in awe of the amazing companionship that we as humans are blessed to have with our pets. I encourage all of you that read this to cherish and love your pets for their lives and their companionship are truly something from the LORD.

Kevin and Sierra Wedding

•January 6, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Well, October 11 came and went and I did not have a moment to update my Blog. But, now that the craziness has died down a bit, I wanted to share some photos from October 11, Kevin and Sierra’s Wedding. It was such a great time! It was a beautiful day, and everyone was so blessed to witness the uniting of two awesome people. Rachel my wife did an outstanding job. I could not have asked for a better partner. Thanks to her we really turned out some great shots, at least I like them anyways. Let me know what you think. Hope you enjoy.

Shots From Cielo

I realized, the other day just how important it is to take time to do what you love to do, just because you love to do it. I had some time after work and decided to go up the hill to our new site. As I sat over looking the ocean, I was was truly taken back by the beauty of creation. I felt compelled to capture what I could. This is one that I really liked.

Hey every buddy. I just recently entered a furniture design competition put on by dwell magazine and Caesarstone. I didn’t realize that they were going to post all the entries online, but they did. You guys should go check it out. There are some really cool designs, especially the one labeled “Sleek Table.” Here is a sneak peak at the table. But go check it out on the Dwell site at

My wife is wonderful and amazing, not to mention wonderfully and amazingly beautiful. You see, the difficult part about being married to a photography enthusiast is that he always has a camera and he always wants to take pictures of you. So here’s to my wife the most beautiful and willing model en el mundo.

Haiti

•September 6, 2008 • 3 Comments

Recently I had the privilege of  tagging along on one of Floresta’s staff trips to Haiti and The Dominican Republic. Floresta, for those of you that do not know, is an amazing non-profit organization that attempts to address the multifaceted needs of impoverished rural communities internationally. Floresta has outreached to many nations world wide including Haiti and the D.R. It’s crazy because many don’t even know where Haiti or the D.R. are located. I honestly couldn’t tell you either, prior to our trip there. Everyone knows and has heard of Cuba, well Haiti and the D.R encompass one large Island just east of Cuba. It is also crazy that one of the poorest nations in the WorId is relatively very close to us. So anyways, to sum up our trip in one word I believe that the only word that can truly captivate my experience there is “Humbling”. It was humbling to see just what we take advantage of everyday that we live in the United States. It was humbling to come back and see more accurately the state of decadence that we live in. It is humbling to see the effects of years of governmental chaos. It was humbling to see the intensity of the problem that Floresta is fighting against. It was humbling to see that we are just a few. It was humbling to realize that all I could really do there on that trip was to take it in, love the people we met, and to attempt to capture the beauty of the people and God’s creation. Here are a few that stir my heart.

A Co-worker

A tribute to a good man that I had the privilege of working with. For some reason, we just happened to connect, and he will be missed around the job site.
